The Syrian jihadi group, "Ansar Al-Sunnah Battalions," an obscure Syrian Salafi-jihadi group which began claiming attacks on religious minorities, particularly Alawites and Druze, in February 2025, continued to beef up its organizational structure by appointing media wing staffers and establishing official media foundations. The media wing appointees include an emir of the media wing of Ansar Al-Sunnah Battalions, a deputy emir, and an administrator. Both senior positions are apparently assigned to natives of Saudi Arabia.
The structure of the media wing of Ansar Al-Sunnah Battalions appears to be large for a nascent jihadi group, which indicates the group is prepared not only to engage in extensive propaganda efforts, but also to counter an expected shari'a confrontation with jihadi opponents, mainly among clerics affiliated with the now-defunct Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS). Those clerics now occupy senior positions in Syria's government, which is led by Ahmed Al-Sharaa.
